Investment
$995.00 total project investment, with a 30% deposit required to begin and the remaining balance due upon completion.

Project Objectives

Based on our discussions, the primary goals for this phase of work are:

  • Improve the overall appearance and professionalism of the website.
  • Create easier navigation to exemplary photography and featured collections.
  • Add a dedicated portfolio and biography section suitable for galleries, publications, and prospective clients.
  • Improve online visibility through foundational SEO enhancements.
  • Enable direct online sales through WHCC fulfillment integration.

Recommended Approach

After reviewing the existing website and your goals, my recommendation is to enhance and modernize the current SmugMug website rather than immediately investing in a full rebuild on a different platform.

Why this approach?

This approach allows us to improve the site’s presentation, navigation, and sales functionality while continuing to use the existing SmugMug platform and fulfillment workflow. It keeps the project practical, focused, and aligned with the goals discussed for this first phase.

Scope of Work

  • Review and reorganize existing site navigation.
  • Create clearer pathways to featured and representative photography collections.
  • Design and implement a dedicated Portfolio & Biography section.
  • Develop a visual refresh to improve the overall appearance and professionalism of the website.
  • Customize the existing SmugMug theme using available design, HTML, and CSS capabilities.
  • Configure and test WHCC integration to support direct online product sales.
  • Implement basic SEO improvements including page structure, titles, and content organization.
  • Perform quality assurance testing across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

Estimated Timeline

  • Week 1: Review current site structure, confirm navigation goals, and prepare proposed visual/structural redesign.
  • Week 2: Begin SmugMug design implementation, homepage improvements, and Portfolio/Bio section setup.
  • Week 3: Configure e-commerce settings, connect/test WHCC fulfillment, and complete basic SEO enhancements.
  • Week 4: Final QA, mobile review, revisions, and project completion.

Timeline may vary depending on content availability, account access, review timing, and WHCC/SmugMug configuration requirements.
