Small Business Basics
Running a small business usually means wearing a lot of hats. Your website shouldn’t be one of the things draining your time or energy.
We work with business owners who know they need a solid online presence, but don’t want something flashy, overbuilt, or hard to manage. Maybe you’ve outgrown a DIY site. Maybe your current site technically works, but doesn’t really reflect who you are anymore. Or maybe you’re starting fresh and want to do it right the first time.
We focus on what actually matters for your business right now, not what you’re “supposed” to have.
The Goal
Make your website easier to live with.
Create an online presence that feels more like you.
Keep things simple, purposeful, and manageable.
Build for where you are now, with room to grow.
Support real business goals, not trends.
Work with clarity, honesty, and care.
Whether you’re just getting started or finally ready to improve what you already have, I help small businesses build websites and systems that actually support how they work, not complicate it.
Things Small Business Owners Often Ask
Every project starts with good questions. Here are a few that come up often.
Is this right for very small or solo businesses?
Absolutely. Many of the businesses I work with are one- or two-person operations. If you care about how your business shows up online and want help making it feel more professional and intentional, you’re a great fit, regardless of size.
I already have a website. Do I need to start over?
Not necessarily. Sometimes the best move is refining what’s already there, improving structure, performance, messaging, or usability without throwing everything away. We’ll look at what’s working, what isn’t, and make smart decisions from there.
What kinds of projects do you typically help with?
Most small business projects fall into things like website builds or refreshes, light eCommerce, booking or inquiry flows, SEO foundations, performance clean-up, and ongoing support. If it helps your business run smoother or communicate more clearly, it’s probably in scope.
I’m not very technical. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Part of my job is translating technical decisions into plain language so you always know why something is being done. You don’t need to speak “developer”, you just need to care about your business.
What if I don’t know exactly what I need yet?
That’s more common than you think. We can start with a conversation, get clarity around your goals, and shape the project from there. You don’t need a perfect plan, just a willingness to build with intention.
